      <image:title>About 1 - Paul Cabrera</image:title>
<image:caption>Welcome to my digital portfolio! A collection of works from my professional career and architectural practice at NJIT. I’m a driven individual with a particular interest in the visual arts. A soft music nerd who takes his guitar everywhere; Yet at the same time a daredevil whos always seeking the next rush of adrenaline, whether its jumping off planes or any extreme sport that can give one a concussion ..being bold and spontaneous can be a double edged sword I guess. But lets step back and dive a little into my story. As a young boy I always had a spark for creative thinking. From spending hours judging poor HGTV projects, to eating questionable amounts of cereal just so I could collect the boxes and reuse the to remake my very own house models ..except better of course. As an undergraduate student I underwent challenges that shifted my thinking into becoming a problem solver, paved the roads into making me a better listener, talk more eloquently, and have patience. Architecture school taught me I shouldn’t fear the unknown, but instead actively dive outside the boundaries in search of greater design opportunities. As a designer I’ve learnt the value of the process, and how an idea can sprout into carefully crafted spaces that can tell a story just by walking by. I’ve grown to be very passionate about what I do and I truly believe my work is able to reflect that. Thanks so much for your time. -Paul</image:caption>

      <image:title>Portfolio Work - 205 Northgate - Minimalistic Complexity</image:title>
<image:caption>205 North Gate is a prototype case study I’m conducting, overseeing and building myself. From its design phase up to laying physical bricks; its a challenge I’ve decided to overtake on my own to explore the knowledge architecture school has taught me. It sounds radical but I plan to build this completely on my own with zero help from the outside world. I took inspiration from the hideout, with the difference being the introduction of modern building materials that are available to anybody, such as engineered I joist, lumber, reinforced concrete and CMU blocks. I have 2 years of building experience working in carpentry, 6 years of architecture school, and the internet to back me up. The project is scheduled to begin construction in early 2022 and will be located in a suburban area of PA.</image:caption>
